317th AW, 39th AS Airmen return home

A U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules taxis down the flightline at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, Jan. 19, 2018. U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt.Thomas Brawders, 39th Airlift Squadron loadmaster, reunites with his family upon return from deployment, Jan. 19, 2018, at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. After his four month deployment, Brawders was greeted on the flight line by his wife Laura, and their children William and Elizabeth. DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Staff Sgt Samuel McCurley, 317th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, gets a big welcome home hug from his son after a four-month rotation to Southwest Asia, June 18. More than 300 Airmen deployed from the 317th Airlift Group and performed operations in support of Operations Enduring/Iraqi Freedom. Some members also supported operations in the Horn of Africa. A Dyess Air Force Base C-130J Super Hercules is required to undergo regular inspections by the 317th Maintenance Squadron isochronal inspection team every certain number of flying hours or calendar days. Though the ISO team is informed of issues the aircraft may have from the perspective of aircrews and loadmasters, their in-depth inspection ensures that the aircraft is ready to complete the mission until the next inspection is required.
