Japanese officer makes history with 39th AS
Japan Air Self-Defense Force Maj. Kentaro Mihara, an exchange pilot from Kanagaw, Japan, was assigned to the 39th Airlift Squadron from 2016 to 2018 through the Military Personnel Exchange program at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. During his time at Dyess AFB, Mihara was selected to enter into instructor pilot upgrade training at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas. Once he passed the 12-week course, Mihara became the first and only Japanese C-130J Super Hercules instructor pilot in the world. (Courtesy photo)
