Sen. Cornyn visits Dyess, presents POW medal
U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-TX, presents the POW medal to Dr. Stanley Scott Jr., son of U.S. Army Air Corps Capt. Stanley Scott Sr., at the Dyess Museum in Abilene, Texas, April 18, 2017. Scott Sr. was held captive at the Wauwilermoos Camp in Switzerland during World War II. When France was liberated, he escaped into France and rejoined his unit. At the end of WWII, he entered the Reserves and was reactivated to active duty in 1950 when he retrained to fly jet fighters. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kedesha Pennant)
