DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas—Airman Eugene Dotson prepares to lower Airman 1st Class Anthony Guajardo, 7th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighters, into a dark tunnel here Oct. 6. Firefighters conducted rescue and retrieval training in confined places at the training grounds located off the flightline. These emergency responders are called to incidents that require climbing or propelling into small spaces to retrieve bodies of dead or injured people, due to the hazards of ditches or uncontrolled working areas.
