Do you have an idea you think will help increase cost savings for our Air Force? The "Every Dollar Counts" program gives Airmen--active duty, Reserve, Guard and civilians-- the chance to make suggestions on how we can help the Air Force save money.

The "Every Dollar Counts" campaign was introduced May 1, 2013 in response to the budget sequestration. According to Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James, these innovative ideas and money-saving efficiency changes saved the Air Force several hundred millions of dollars within a year.

Airmen have been encouraged to submit their proposals on the "Airman Powered by Innovation" website, where more than 1,700 ideas were submitted on the first day of activation. According to Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Larry O. Spencer, when a suggestion is approved and implemented, the idea is disseminated across the Air Staff, major commands and wings to generate cost savings Air Force-wide.

"As you know, there are consequences of this fiscal climate we cannot change, but we must do our very best to improve the things we can and ensure we are good stewards of every taxpayer dollar," James said. "Let's all take ownership to improve what we can control and to make every dollar count."

If you would like to submit an idea online, go to the Airmen Powered by Innovation website at https://ipds.afpc.randolph.af.mil. All submissions are processed by the Office of the Under Secretary of the Air Force for Business Transformation.
