Approximately 18 Dyess Airmen took part in the Air Force’s Robotics Process Automation Roadshow July 30 - August 2, 2024.

The Air Force has embraced RPA software produced by the Department of the Air Force Bot Operations Team UiPath, which will teach individuals to automate routine office tasks. The software is simple to learn and can be implemented in almost any occupation.

Team members from Invoke Incorporated brought innovation to Dyess by showing Airmen how to turn time-consuming administrative tasks into an automation process through UiPath.

“I imagine people aren’t in the Air Force to run excel files and upload information into a data file all day,” said Marcellous Curtis Jr., Invoke Incorporated intelligent automation consultant. “This process is intended to give time back to Airmen who can focus on more complex tasks that involve creative thinking and problem solving that a computer may not be able to do.”

The roadshow was created to allow members to begin the course with little to no knowledge of UiPath. At the end the week students came up with multiple ideas to help implement RPA into their units including unit deployment manager reports, training reports and awards system documentation.

The RPA process enables Dyess Airmen to have more time for mission-focused tasks as well as time to come up with faster and more lethal ways of taking the fight to our adversaries.

“I was unsure of what to expect at the beginning of the week but was surprised and thought the course was extremely interesting and cool,” said Airman 1st Class Michael Chandler, 7th Comptroller Squadron financial operations analyst. “I believe the roadshow will help Dyess attain its mission by giving Airmen more time to focus on bigger, more essential tasks. Being taught automation helped us to automate the mundane, everyday tasks that took a lot of time away from important Air Force mission goals. Using this program could save my office approximately 10 hours per week.”
