DYESS AIRMAN DIES IN OFF-BASE MOTORCYCLE INCIDENT

A Dyess Air Force Base Airman was killed in a two-vehicle collision, off-base June 30 at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The collision occurred between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle, each operated by a Dyess Airman. The Airman operating the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The surviving Airman, who was operating the passenger vehicle, was evaluated on scene and required no further medical attention.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until 24 hours following next-of-kin notification.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and wingmen affected by this tragic loss,” said Col. Robert Sturgill Jr., 7th Bomb Wing and installation commander. “Our priority right now is ensuring our Airmen and families have the support they need as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. Out of respect for their privacy and the integrity of the ongoing investigation, we will not be releasing further details.”
