21st AEW answers the call for Typhoon Sinlaku relief
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Matthew Dunst, 21st Combat Air Base Squadron structural journeyman, cuts through compromised wooden and metal structural beams on Tinian, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, June 10, 2026. Following major infrastructure damage caused by Typhoon Sinlaku, the 21st CABS deployed to the CNMI to execute Defense Support of Civil Authorities missions. All Department of War response efforts are conducted in direct support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and local civil officials to ensure the rapid restoration of safe public spaces.
