Loadmasters assigned to the 40th Airlift Squadron secure chalks before takeoff on a C-130J Super Hercules assigned to the 317th Airlift Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, May 29, 2026. The aircraft can accommodate oversized cargo, from utility helicopters and armored vehicles to palletized goods and personnel, and it can also airdrop loads up to 42,000 pounds or use its high-flotation landing gear to deliver cargo on rough dirt strips.
