7th BW receives Global Strike Challenge awards
The 7th Bomb Wing received four awards during the Global Strike Challenge sit on display during Best Bomb Wing ceremony at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, Dec. 16, 2021. Dyess members earned four awards with the “Best Bomb Wing,” Fairchild Trophy, going to the 7th Bomb Wing, “Best Bomber Maintenance” Ellis Giant Sword, going to 7th Maintenance Group, “Best B-1 Bomb Squadron” Eaker Trophy going to the 28th Bomb Squadron, and “Best Bomb,” Mitchell Trophy going to the 28th Bomb Squadron. This photo also includes, to the right, the “Best Community” Barksdale Award presented courtesy of the Abilene Military Affairs Committee President, Greg Blair. The Global Strike Challenge is the world’s premier bomber and intercontinental ballistic missile operations and maintenance, helicopter operations and security forces competition with units from Air Force Global Strike Command, Air Combat Command, Air Force Reserves Command and the Air National Guard participating.
