Sen. Ted Cruz visits Dyess
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, visits the Airmen dormitories at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, Aug. 9, 2018. Cruz and his staff visited the base to greet commanders and familiarize themselves with the missions of the base, as well as to share the success and impact of the bi-partisan effort to successfully pass the Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act through Congress faster than in the previous two decades. Dyess’ leadership spoke to the senator about the dorm issues on base, because not all dorms are habitable due to infrastructure and other issues, Dyess Airmen are often required to move off base sooner than typically expected. The dorms were built in the 1950s and most require significant renovation to house Airmen. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Mercedes Porter)
