Dyess squadrons celebrate 100 years of service
U.S. Air Force retired Chief Master Sgt. Harold Bergbower, former 28th Bomb Squadron air mechanic, speaks to Airmen about his experiences during World War II at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, Sept. 8, 2017. After the surrender of Bataan in 1942, Bergbower was taken as a prisoner of war where he met Lt. Col. Eddie Dyess. Bergbower was moved several times until the Japanese surrender, and released October 1945. He served until his retirement in 1969. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Rebecca Van Syoc)
