From EOD Airman to Silver Star recipient

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Kristopher Parker, an explosive ordnance disposal technician from Carlsbad, New Mexico, joined the Air Force in 2003 and has participated in numerous missions while deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. On May 21, 2014, Parker was involved in a mission to clear a warehouse producing improved explosive devices. During this time, Parker and his team engaged in a fire fight with enemy combatants. Providing suppressive fire and creating an escape route, parker enabled his team to eliminate the enemy and return alive. For his courageous acts, Parker received the Silver Star. (Courtesy photo)
