18th Air Force leadership visits Dyess
U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Sam Cox, 18th Air Force commander, pilots a C-130J Super Hercules, March 30, 2016, at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. Cox toured the 317th Airlift Group to meet the Airmen and learn what they do on a daily basis to help accomplish the Air Force mission. The C-130J is the newest generation of the C-130 Hercules which primarily performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The aircraft is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas.
