Veteran’s Day parade honors Dyess Airman
Airmen from the Dyess Honor Guard present the American and Texas flags during the annual Veteran’s Day parade Nov. 9, 2013, in downtown Abilene, Texas. Seven months before the Treaty of Versailles was signed, fighting in World War I ceased when President Woodrow Wilson signed an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany, going into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
