39th AS returns home
U.S. Air Force Maj. Patrick Sims, 39th Airlift Squadron, hugs his children during a welcome home ceremony March 18, 2014, at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. Family, friends and fellow servicemembers waited for each C-130J to touch down so they could celebrate the return of their deployed Airmen. A total of six aircraft returned after supporting operations in Afghanistan.This was the first all C-130J deployment for the 317th Airlift Group.
