7th Bomb Wing commander starts leadership innovation series
Dr. David Itkin, Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra conductor, speaks during a leadership and innovation forum held May 5, 2014, at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. Itkin was the guest speaker for the event. In his presentation, Itkin explained that the hierarchy structure of an orchestra is broken down into four sections. Each section has a leader who is responsible for translating the conductor’s instructions in more detail to the other musicians in their section. Itkin said this process saves time and money, because the conductor does not have to inspect each individual’s work. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Autumn Velez/Released)
