Water safety is a matter of life or death

Laura Preston, a lifeguard at the Dyess Main Pool, sits atop her watchtower June 6, 2014, on Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. As a lifeguard, Preston is responsible for applying first aid, ensuring pool rules are enforced and ensuring the safety of swimmers, to include the prevention of drowning.
