Dyess holds ribbon cutting ceremony for Youth Center
DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Col. Timothy Ray, 7th Bomb Wing commander, is assisted by his wife, Rhonda (left), and Diane Areskog, 7th Force Support Squadron youth director, during the ribbon cutting ceremony of the renovated Dyess Youth Center Wednesday, July 9. The Youth Center has been undergoing renovations and expansion construction since October 2006. Construction of the facility is expected to be completed next month. The original facility was 13,794 square feet. The construction increased the total square footage to 32,551 square feet. Total cost of the construction was approximately $4.4 million. Some of the renovated areas include a computer room, teen center, music room, and game room. The new construction included the addition of a School Age Program reception area, classrooms, commercial kitchen, snack bar, common areas, and improved communication, safety and security equipment.
