Bowl for Kids' sake
DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Master Sgt. Manuel Zurita, Senior Airmen Richard Armstrong and Andrea Beckles, and Master Sgt. Jermaine Parrish, 7th Comptroller Squadron, participated Aug. 2 in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl For Kids' Sake 2008. The event was "a great success" according to Jamie Bearden, director of public relations for BBBS, and Dyess bowlers raised more than $3,800 -- more than double the amount raised in 2007. Military servicemembers are encouraged to volunteer for community events, and the Dyess/Abilene relationship is constantly fed by events like Bowl For Kids' Sake and the recent 56 Club backpack drive.
