JBB first-responders remember fallen comrade
JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq ? A folded firefighter?s uniform sits at the foot of a memorial in honor of Staff Sgt. Ray Rangel. a fire emergency services technician, at the Balad Fire Department here. Base first-responders gathered at the memorial Feb. 13 for a remembrance ceremony held in honor of Rangel. Rangel died Feb. 13, 2005, while attempting to save two Soldiers trapped in an overturned humvee in a canal in northern Iraq.
