DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas - Hometown Hero Andy Adkins, an Abilene Police Officer, gets ready to take his seat aboard an United States Air Force Thunderbirds F-16C Fighting Falcon here, April 29. The Hometown Hero program is designed to showcse Abilenians putting forth amazing effort in their community, in line with amazing efforts put forth by America's Airmen ever day. Officer Adkins received community recognition when he volunteered his time and service to provide a unique opportunity for a special needs individual in the community.
