Training To Save Lives

DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas-- Airman 1st Class Jacob Strachan, 7th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, dons his fire-prevention gear May 6 here. There are more than 55 firefighters within the squadron who operate more than 15 fire trucks. Some days they have up to 10 calls and are required to be on scene within five minutes of the call. Firefighters keep everyone on the base as safe as possible by conducting routine safety checks on the buildings as well as practicing what to do in case of a fire.
