Staff Sgt. Joshua Hood (left), 7th Civil Engineer Squadron, is awarded the Air Force Combat Action Medal by Col. David Been (right), 7th Bomb Wing commander, Dec. 14, 2011, in the base theater at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. While on deployment at Helmand Province, Afghanistan, he assisted Army forces on a roof top where they were taking fire from insurgents. After being bombarded by rocket propelled grenades, a team member called an A-10 Thunderbolt for air-to-surface support. Also awarded was Senior Airman Todd Wycoff from the 7 CES.
