Leadership learns to fight fire
U.S. Air Force Col. David Béen, 7th Bomb Wing commander, fights a simulated aircraft fire June 20, 2012, at the Fire Department training grounds on Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. Base leadership experienced firefighting from a firefighters point of view. Training started with an exterior Jet Propellant 8 explosion, followed by an interior propane explosion in the cockpit to demonstrate the difference between the two fuel types. Firefighters are responsible for protecting Air Force assets in case of fire. Dyess’ Fire Department training grounds enable airmen to qualify on both propane and jet fuel.
