Police Week honors Defenders
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Dalton Aguilar, 7th Security Forces Squadron, folds an American flag during a Police Week retreat ceremony May 16, 2013, at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. During Police Week, communities across the nation pay tribute to fallen law enforcement heroes for the sacrifices they made to protect others.
