Police Week honors Defenders
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Kori Trimble, 7th Security Forces Squadron (SFS), stands ready as Dyess youth volunteer for the chance to restrain her during a National Police Week event May 14, 2013, at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. The week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. The 7th SFS held a jail-and-bail fundraiser, vehicle display, weapons display and bike rodeo throughout the week. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Damon Kasberg/ Released)
