Restoring B-1 readiness: Egress works around the clock
Senior Airman Sheldon Morrison, 7th Component Maintenance Squadron aircrew egress systems apprentice, attaches a pitch stabilization control assembly, or STAPAC, to a B-1B Lancer ejection seat at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, June 26, 2019. The STAPAC controls the positioning of the seat upon ejecting with a rotating gyro, which allows the seat to remain upright. The 7th CMS egress shop was recently tasked to conduct an out-of-cycle inspection on all B-1Bs in Dyess’ fleet. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class River Bruce)
