Remembering their sacrifice: TORQE 62 memorial run, ceremony

A memorial run and ceremony will be held in honor of the fallen aircrew members of TORQE 62, Sept. 30.

The memorial run is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. and the memorial ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the parade grounds in front of the base Commissary.

Individuals wishing to participate in the run are recommended to arrive at the starting line prior to 7:30 a.m. There is no sign-up or registration required for participation. The memorial ceremony is open to all base personnel and civic leaders who wish to attend.

The memorial is set to honor the Dyess Airmen of TORQE 62, Capt. Jonathan Golden, Capt. Jordan Pierson, Staff Sgt. Ryan Hammond and Senior Airman Quinn Johnson-Harris, who were killed when their C-130J Super Hercules crashed Oct. 2, 2015, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
