Insanity fitness classes are now being offered at the Dyess Fitness Center Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m.

The Insanity class is a 30 minute workout session packed with maximum interval training, in which a continuous cycle of 3-4 minutes of strenuous activity is followed by 30 seconds of rest.

The workout class is derived from the Insanity fitness program, which is traditionally a 60 day DVD led workout.

"Rather than dreading and knowing what's coming up next, the actual class changes it up with new moves to make it more challenging," said Penny Vieau, a Dyess Fitness Center Insanity instructor.

Vieau encourages those of all fitness levels to come out and give the class a try. She added that there are different modifications to accommodate those who are just starting out and those who have been at it for a while.

"You don't have to be fit to come to this class," Vieau said. "You just need a desire for progression. With Insanity, you realize there is a little more in you and you can always dig deeper. It makes you mentally stronger."

Whether you're looking to add a variation to your current workout or you're just getting back into the gym, Insanity could be exactly what you've been waiting for.
