The Longhorn Dining Facility will host its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner Nov. 28, at the Hangar Center Commons here.

The buffet-style meal will be provided from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it's open to the entire military community including their families and retirees. The cost is $11 per person, and children under the age of 6 eat free. Brig. Gen. Glen VanHerck, 7th Bomb Wing commander, along with group commanders and chiefs, will be serving the food.

"One thing that makes this meal truly special is that it's not going to be served at the dining facility," said Staff Sgt. Victoria Contreras, 7th Force Support Squadron flight kitchen assistant manager. "Our Airmen work really hard, and it just shows that we're still sustaining our mission."

The menu items are listed below:
· Boneless turkey
· Baked ham
· Mashed potatoes
· Glazed sweet potatoes
· Cornbread dressing
· Green beans
· Corn
· Cranberry sauce
· Fruit
· Dinner rolls
· Apple/Pecan/Pumpkin pies

"This is the first time we've ever served Thanksgiving outside of the dining facility, so this is something big," said Staff Sgt. Stephon Gaines, 7th Force Support Squadron flight kitchen storeroom manager. "I truly hope more people come than expected."

The flight kitchen will be closed starting Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. and will reopen Nov. 29 at 7 a.m.

Volunteers will be needed to help clean up the Hangar Center after the dinner. For more information, please contact Tech Sgt. Cheryl Hoellwarth at (325) 696-2421.
