UPDATED: Dyess Airman Killed in motorcycle accident Published May 11, 2015 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs Dyess Air Force Base, Texas -- An Airman assigned to the 7th Equipment Maintenance Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base was killed in a motorcycle accident on State Highway 351 in Abilene, May 10, 2015. Airman 1st Class Anirude Andy Sukhdeo, a 24-year old aerospace ground equipment journeyman, was traveling northeast on 351 when the motorcycle he was operating collided with another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 2:52 p.m. by Justice of the Peace Frank Cleveland. Next of kin have been notified. Emergency responders included officials from the Abilene Police and Fire Departments and the Taylor County Sheriff's office. Representatives from Dyess also reported to the scene. "Every Air Force squadron operates as a team, and when we lose an individual, the entire team is affected," said Maj. Kenneth Fetters, 7 EMS commander. "Andy was an integral part of our unit, and we will feel his absence throughout each section. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to his family and friends who mourn his loss." Sukhdeo enlisted in the Air Force in January 2010 and reported to Dyess Air Force Base in September 2010. "Each Airman on Dyess is a part of our Air Force team," said Col. Michael Bob Starr, 7th Bomb Wing commander. "The tragic loss of Andy's life will be felt across Dyess and the Air Force. I offer my sincerest condolences to the family, friends and coworkers who will mourn his loss with us." The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Abilene Police Department.
