Dyess Airman passes away after motorcycle accident

An Airman assigned to the 7th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base was pronounced dead at University Hospital in Lubbock on June 6, 2015.

The Airman was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries following a motorcycle accident on FM 126 in Mulberry Canyon.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified.

"This is tragic loss that will resonate across the Dyess community. It is with a heavy heart that I extend my condolences to the loved ones of our teammate," said Col. Michael Bob Starr, 7th Bomb Wing commander.

The accident is currently under investigation.
