UPDATED Dyess Airman killed in vehicle accident Published Oct. 19, 2015 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- An Airman assigned to the 7th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base was killed in a vehicle accident Oct. 18, 2015. Senior Airman Lawrence Ross was pronounced dead near the intersection of FM 89 and County Road 653 between Abilene and Buffalo Gap at the scene of the accident at 8:20 a.m. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Ross was assigned to the 7th AMXS as a B-1 hydraulics systems journeyman on April 18, 2011. "Airman Ross was the kind of Airman you hope to have in your shop," said Master Sgt. William Alty, 7th AMXS first sergeant. "He was an amazing person and a true joy to get to know and work with. Airman Ross will be missed by all who knew him." "Ross was an incredible part of the 7th AMXS family; his loss is felt throughout the squadron and by all of Team Dyess," said Maj. John Adams, Jr., 7th AMXS commander. "My thoughts and prayers as well as those of the entire squadron are with his family and friends during this difficult time." 1st Lt.
