The Mighty Eighth, J-GSOC welcome new commander

The Airmen of the Eighth Air Force and Joint-Global Strike Operations Center welcomed Maj. Gen. Ty Neuman and said farewell to Maj. Gen. Jason Armagost during a change of command ceremony here November 6.

Prior to assuming command, Neuman served as the Director, Strategic Plans, Programs and Requirements at Air Force Global Strike Command. As the commander of the Mighty Eighth, Neuman is responsible for the nation’s bomber force and airborne nuclear command and control assets, encompassing approximately 24,000 Airmen across six installations, and operating more than 150 E-4, B-1, B-2, B-52 and T-38 aircraft.

In addition, Neuman also assumed command of the J-GSOC which plans and executes strategic deterrence and global strike operations for U.S. Strategic Command air components.
