Tops in Blue to visit Dyess-Abilene Published Aug. 29, 2007 By Senior Airman Joel Mease 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Tops in Blue is scheduled to perform a free show for the public Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Abilene Civic Center. Making its second visit in a year, the Tops in Blue performance consists of 35 Airmen chosen for their top entertainment and musical capabilities. Included in the group is one Dyess' own, Senior Airman April Vollm, 39th Airlift Squadron loadmaster. Tops in Blue has always put on an outstanding performance for the local community, said Willie Cooper, Dyess Tops in Blue Committee chair. "The important thing for everyone to remember is that the performance is completely free of charge and you do not need a ticket to attend," Mr. Cooper said. "Seating will be first come, first serve in the Abilene Civic Center, so it is important to arrive early." For those wanting to obtain a great seat for event the doors to the Abilene Civic Center will open at 6:30 p.m. The center is located at 1100 North 6th Street.
