Airmen to compete in ‘Dyess Idol’ Published Feb. 7, 2008 DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- A group of 10 Airmen and dependents are scheduled to compete in the first-ever "Dyess Idol" singing competition Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. The one-night event will feature prizes for the top winners, and will be judged by members of the media and Dyess personnel. Following the initial performances, the group will be narrowed down to five contestants who will sing one more time. A winner will be chosen as the first Dyess Idol following the second performance.
