Homeruns will be flying, Airmen will be dodging balls, and some will be fighting it out in a game of tug-of war during the 4th Annual Sports Day here May 16.

The event hosted by the 7th Services Squadron will offer events where individuals and groups can compete. Group events will have points that count toward earning the Commander's Trophy, according to the 7th SVS.

Events available for competition are: 5K Run, homerun derby, dodge ball tournament, paintball tournament, bowling tournament, golf, tug-of war, 100-yard dash, triathlon, 3-on-3 basketball, softball and wallyball. All awards will be presented immediately after the event. Events begin to start at 8 a.m. and will end by 2 p.m. Opening ceremonies will start at 7:30 a.m.

Previous Sports Day events have brought several hundred competitors, with dodge ball, basketball, golf and bowling being the most popular events. The events also help bring in approximately $1,000 for Services non-appropriated funds in previous sports days, said Mrs. Stephanie Kraly, 7th SVS marketing director.
