Dyess Base Education and Training Flight is holding an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new National Test Center here on June 5.

The National Test Center offers electronically-based College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams as well as the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) Subject Standardized Tests for college credit. Military members may receive college credit for knowledge they already have through on-the-job-training, independent study, prior course work, professional military education, cultural pursuits or internships.

Students who take the electronically-based tests will know their scores immediately. Successful test scores translate directly into college credits at more than 2,900 accredited institutions throughout the United States. Since the first internet based exam in February, the staff has administered 153 DANTES and 114 CLEP exams.

Dyess also provides traditional class room college course to base personnel through Cisco Junior College, McMurry University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, the Community College of the Air Force, and the Coastline Community College.
