Black boots not approved for wear with Airman Battle Uniform A recent article released stated the black boots worn with the Battle Dress Uniform are back as authorized footwear with the Airman Battle Uniform. This is purely speculation. During the uniform board's first online session members reviewed a plan to allow Airmen in industrial type career fields to revert back to the black combat boots. When the Chief of Staff of the Air Force makes a final determination on a uniform board's recommendation, the U.S. Air Force Headquarters will release the information through official channels. In the interim, black boots are not authorized to be worn with the Airman Battle Uniform. Updates will be published when they become available.
