Government busses to provide student transportation to Dyess Elementary School

DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  The Delaware Gate in base housing will remain closed throughout the school year to ensure the safety of base residents as housing construction continues in that area. In addition, the Maryland Gate will be limited to construction traffic only.

Dyess Elementary School does not provide bus transportation for children who live on base, but the 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron will provide government busses with routine stops and pickup times. To further reduce safety risks, children on base will not be able to walk or ride bikes from the base to Dyess Elementary School.

"Providing a safe environment for our Airmen and their families is one of the wing's top priorities," said Lt. Col. Chris Womack, 7th Mission Support Group deputy commander. "We're working hard to ensure this tumultuous construction period is as manageable as possible and the military busses should help in that regard."

Base residents who have any questions about the bus route can contact the 7th LRS vehicle dispatch office at 696-2265.
