Making the season bright: chapel staff to host annual Christmas tree and Menorah lighting Published Nov. 17, 2008 By Capt. James Galyon 7th Bomb Wing chaplain DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Dyess Chapel invites all Team Dyess members and their families to celebrate the start of the holiday season at the 2008 Annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Ceremony. The ceremony will be held on the front lawn of the Dyess Chapel Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. Colonel Robert Gass, 7th Bomb Wing commander, will kick off the event by lighting the Christmas tree. Temple Mizpah, the local synagogue in Abilene, has been invited to provide an historical background of Hanukkah and to light the Menorah. Santa Claus will arrive at the conclusion of the ceremony, leading everybody inside the Chapel Annex to enjoy plenty of cookies and hot drinks.
