Eggman 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs DYESS Air Force Base, Texas -- Bone chilling temperatures, freezing rain and high winds would not stop Team Dyess Airmen from professionally completing the Operational Readiness Inspection here Jan. 5-6. "The hard work and determination was evident over the last two days and in the last year, now it's time to see the results," said Col. Robert Gass, 7th Bomb Wing commander. "We were ready even with Mother Nature throwing us a few curve balls... we got the job done." Overall, Team Dyess processed 502 people and 295 short tons of cargo and generated and regenerate four of six aircraft in two days. The inspectors focused on the generation and regeneration process of aircraft, cargo and people, which the 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron played a big part. They also graded the wing on a large cargo movement which was executed with a minor number of discrepencies. In addition to being graded by Air Combat Command, this series of exercises and inspections have prepared the wing for its real-world commitments to AEF 7/8 later this month. "That one major challenge down this month, one more to go," said Colonel Gass. "We still have work to do and I'm counting on everyone to take what we've learned in the past year and prepare to take it to the door step of our nation's enemies."
