Team Dyess Warrior of the Week Published Feb. 3, 2009 DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- This week's warrior is Staff Sgt. Andres Rodriguez 1. Name and rank: Staff Sgt. Andres Rodriguez 2. Unit: 7 AMDS/SGGB 3. Job title: Environmental Health Element Chief 4. Job description and its impact on the overall mission: Directs planning, scheduling, and coordination do all required environmental sampling. 5. Time in the military: 9 years. 6. Time at Dyess: 2 years 7. Family: wife, Migdalia, daughters, Gabriela P. and Camila I. 8. Hometown: Gurabo, Puerto Rico 9. Why did you join the military? Well having so many family and friends in the armed forces and hearing about all the travel, deployment stories and many more things make me want some of the action. After nine years in the Air Force, I have done lots of traveling TDYs and deployments, so guess who is telling stories about traveling all around the word and being deployed to many different countries. 10. Where do you see yourself in 10 or 20 years: Hopefully still in the Air Force Reserve, and enjoy the success of my business. 11. What do you do for fun here? Sports and boating 12. What's your favorite Air Force memory or story? Wow so many, but I think my favorite memory is back in Oct. 7, 2001 when we launched from Whiteman AFB, MO two B-2 A/C (Spirit of Louisiana and Spirit of Mississippi) in a remarkable 44 hour mission to Afghanistan. Knowing that I was part of history in the making. 13. What accomplishment are you most proud of? Being recognized by the former Chairman Joint Chief of Staff, Gen. Myers after we saved an F-16 A/C from burning. 14. Who are your role models? My dad, Army retired after 27 years. My best friend.
