The 317th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron held their first Knucklebuster Banquet at the Ball Ranch April 11, where the group gathered to enjoy a meal and honor their top performers.

"The 317th Knucklebuster Banquet recognizes the 317th Maintenance Squadron annual award winners," said 1st Lt. Danielle Kreger, 317th AG. "Specifically we're presenting the 317th Maintenance Professional of the Year awards. Group winners at Air Mobility Command for the General Lew Allen Jr. Trophy, Lt. General Leo Marquez Award, and the Chief Master Sergeant Thomas N. Barnes Crew Chief of the Year were also recognized."
The term "knucklebuster" is used throughout the aircraft maintenance community to recognize hard workers.

"This is the first year the 317th has done a knucklebuster, but we hope to continue the tradition in years to come," Lt. Kreger said. "Many maintenance groups across the Air Force have similar events each year."

The guest speaker, Brigadier General Kenneth Merchant gave many thanks during his speech to the "heroes" who work hard every day.
