Base telephone service to be interrupted June 26 Published June 11, 2009 By 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Beginning at 6 p.m. and lasting approximately eight hours, Dyess telephone service will be interrupted as the main telephone switch is replaced. The outage will affect DSN and commercial lines. All land mobile radios should be tested to ensure functionality prior to June 26 if used as a communication medium. Following the switch replacement, dialing instructions will change from 6-xxxx to 696-xxxx for on-base calls. The 94 DSN prefix and 99 off-base prefix remain the same.
