Starting July 15 the 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron will provide a fare-free shuttle-bus service to transport anyone who has access to the base, but servicemembers conducting official business have priority.

The readiness squadron will provide the shuttle service as part of a 30-day trial. After 30 days, the squadron will conduct analyses to determine if the service is valid and if any adjustments to routes or schedules should be made.

"In 2003 there was a similar shuttle-bus service that was used to transport Airmen around the installation but was stopped due to lack of ridership," said Master Sgt. Billy Gorham, 7 LRS.

There will be 10 stops throughout the base and a bus route and pick-up schedule posted at each location.

"We ask that you please be standing at the bus stop when the bus arrives," said Sergeant Gorham. "The shuttle will wait approximately 60 seconds before it leaves to head to the next bus stop."

The bus schedule is available on the Dyess Air Force Base Web site and can be accessed by clicking here.
