The Dyess Spouses Club is a non-profit organization devoted to supporting charities and organizations in and around the Dyess Air Force Base community.

This past year, the DSC donated more than $8,000 to base, local and national organizations. They also granted more than $12,000 in scholarship money to Dyess dependents.

The DSC is able to donate money thanks to the profits generated by the Dyess Thrift Shop, as well as various fundraising events throughout the year.
The DSC is open to all spouses of active duty, Reservists, National Guard, and retired; active duty military; honoraries; and qualified DOD civilians.

"We changed our name from Dyess Officers' Spouses Club to Dyess Spouses Club to reflect the change in membership eligibility," said Tracy Corpuz DSC publicist chair. "The name change also signifies our desire to build a strong, all-inclusive community of Team Dyess spouses."

"In addition to our charitable works, we strive to promote fellowship amongst our members through monthly social events and special group activities," said Ms. Corpuz.

Some of their special group activities include book club, bowling, Bunco, firing range, gourmet cooking, lunch and junk and movie club. More groups are being added to meet the different interests of the members.

"Our goal is to provide an outlet for members to find support, make new friends, share experiences, and have fun -- all while contributing to Dyess and the surrounding community," said Ms. Corpuz.

The thrift shop, located at 382 4th Ave., is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to anyone who has access on base.
