DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- With 2009 nearing an end, I reflect back on our extraordinary accomplishments. I'm proud to be part of this team and humbled to see your commitment to serving your country and fellow Airmen.

Together, we've done exceptionally well this year and have kept focus on our priorities of winning the fight we're in, taking care of our Airmen, their families and our base, while preparing for a challenging future. With the new year just around the corner, I look forward to even greater challenges and successes in 2010.

Be sure to keep in mind those currently deployed around the world defending freedom. As you celebrate the holidays, I hope you will join me in keeping those members of our Team Dyess, our Air Force and all our military brothers and sisters in harm's way in your thoughts and prayers.

Come back safe after the Christmas and New Year's break. Again, happy holidays and enjoy your down time; you've earned it.
