Three Dyess dependents traveled to Dallas Jan. 24 to participate in a joint Air Force and Navy production.

Dallis Seeker 13, Audrey Seeker 10 and Kaelyn Matthews 13 made up three of the 17 children that participated in the play "Robin Hood" that focused on working together.

"It was a real privilege to be a part of the play," Kaelyn said. "Only the best were invited and I was one of them."

The 17 children that participated in the play were from all over the United States.
"It was fun getting to meet new people," Dallis said. "I enjoyed eating lunch and just talking to the other cast members on our breaks."

The children worked with Missoula Children's Theatre for less than a week to prepare for the production.

"It was difficult trying to learn the play in a short amount of time," Audrey said. "There were days we practiced six hours and others where we practiced four."

More than 600 people attended the play about a hero in English folklore, a highly skilled archer, marksman, swordsman and outlaw. In particular, he is known for robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, assisted by a group of fellow outlaws known as his Merry Men.

"The play was great," said Monica Matthews. "It was encouraging to see the Air Force and Navy work together to better the children."

Dallis and Kaelyn were nominated for the second time to participate in the MCT summer camp. Children wanting to participate in the camp must send an audition tape and be chosen by MCT. The more a child is nominated the better the chances are of them being selected for the camp.
The children are looking forward to reuniting with friends that they have made from previous plays at the summer camp.

"It's always good meeting new people," Dallis said. "I still keep in contact with friends that I have met at previous plays through email."

Dallis and Audrey are currently taking acting classes and Kaelyn is involved in the musical theater at the Abilene Performing Arts Company.
